DevOps / Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (AWS)

ipushpull is looking for a hands-on DevOps / Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to help operate and evolve our AWS-based platform.

This role focuses on AWS infrastructure, observability, deployment automation, security and production system support. You will work closely with our development and technical sales teams to ensure our platform remains secure, reliable and highly observable.

Our platform is used by financial markets organisations to securely share data, automate workflows and integrate systems. Reliability, security and operational visibility of our cloud infrastructure are critical to our success.

You will join a small engineering team, so the role requires someone comfortable taking ownership of infrastructure, investigating complex issues and building practical improvements to our platform.

ipushpull is a remote-first company (UK hours) with flexible working arrangements. 

 

What You'll Own 

In this role, you will help operate and improve the core cloud platform that powers ipushpull’s
services, including:

-Our AWS multi-account infrastructure architecture

-Centralised monitoring, logging and observability across environments

-Deployment pipelines used to deliver platform and application updates

-Operational reliability and performance of production systems

-Investigation and resolution of infrastructure and platform issues 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • -Manage and evolve our AWS multi-account cloud infrastructure using best practices for reliability, security and scalability

    -Design and implement centralised observability, including metrics, logs, tracing and alerting across AWS environments

    -Maintain centralised monitoring and logging across multiple AWS accounts

    -Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines used to deploy platform services

    -Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code and automation for repeatable infrastructure management

    -Investigate and resolve infrastructure and platform issues across AWS environments

    -Perform root cause analysis of production incidents and implement improvements to prevent recurrence

    -Provide support for operational incidents

    -Work closely with development teams to improve system reliability and deployment workflows and operational visibility

    -Ensure systems and processes meet ISO-27001 and SOC 2 security requirements

    -Participate in operational activities such as upgrades, deployments and occasional out-of-hours maintenance and support

 

Experience & Skills 

  • We are looking for a proactive engineer who enjoys ownership, troubleshooting complex systems and improving platform reliability.

    Essential

    -2+ years of experience in a commercial DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure or Platform Engineering role

    -Strong hands-on experience operating production workloads on AWS

    -Experience managing or supporting multi-account AWS environments

    -Experience implementing monitoring, logging and observability systems

    -Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines

    -Experience working with AWS EKS, orchestration and containerised applications

    -Experience with test-driven Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and configuration management tools (Ansible)

    -Experience of using GIT based source control systems

    -Strong Linux administration skills

    -Strong troubleshooting and investigative skills in cloud environments

    -Experience diagnosing issues using logs, metrics and monitoring tools

    -Experience supporting production cloud applications

    -Fluent English

    Useful / Nice to Have

    -Experience of Azure or GCP cloud services

    -Experience supporting Web based SaaS application at scale

    -Experience implementing centralised logging platforms

    -Familiarity with distributed tracing or observability tooling

    -Experience implementing AWS security best practices (AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, Splunk)

    -Experience integrating SCA and SAST tools (e.g. Mend) into CI/CD pipelines

    -Experience with OpenSearch

    -Experience working in regulated environments (FinTech, ISO27001, SOC2)
